Ana Gasteyer (born May 4, 1967 in Washington, DC) is a comedian who established herself as a cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 1996.
She graduated from either Sidwell Friends School and Northwestern University. She had her role in SNL due to her own experience by using a renowned Los Angeles improv-sketch comedy group known as The Groundlings.
Gasteyer created many easily-known SNL characters when you took her time there, including middle school music teacher Bobbie Moughan-Culp (paired Will Ferrell), NPR radio host Margaret Jo McCullen (paired Molly Shannon), one half of Gemini's Twin (together with Maya Rudolph), and Lilith Fair poetess Cinder Calhoun, as well as spot-on impressions of Martha Stewart, Céline Dion, Katherine Harris, Joy Behar, Kathy Griffin, Helen Thomas, and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Ana left SNL inside 2002, & since so has appeared inside various tv program and films, including Mean Girls. She is presently prima when Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the musical Wicked at the Oriental Theater in Chicago.
She & her married man, Charlie McKittrick, have a girl, Frances (sustaining whom she was famously pregnant in the period of her endure year in SNL).
